From Brooklyn to Brick – Mark Rosen on Building Community with Royal Stitch and Print | SJS Podcast Episode 2

Watch Episode 2 with our guest Mark Rosen from Royal Stitch and Print in Brick, New Jersey

Episode date: July 22, 2025

In Episode 2 of the Shop Jersey Shore Podcast, host Lisa Mazzuca sits down with Mark Rosen, owner of Royal Stitch and Print in Brick, NJ. What began as a dinner-table idea between Mark and his family has grown into a full-service apparel, promotional product, and signage company serving businesses across Ocean and Monmouth County—and well beyond.

Mark’s story is equal parts entrepreneurship, family, and community. He shares how a simple fascination with embroidery machines led to a family-run business that outfits local companies, nonprofits, and event organizers with the gear they need to look professional and stay top-of-mind.

What Royal Stitch and Print Does

Royal Stitch and Print started with custom apparel and embroidery and now delivers a broad mix of brand-building products:

  • Apparel & Headwear: Embroidered polos, jackets, hats, and more.
  • Screen Printing: Branded tees and uniforms for teams, events, and staff.
  • Promotional Products: From water bottles and pens to creative items like charcuterie boards for client gifts.
  • Signage: Lawn signs (a favorite for realtors and contractors), retractable banners for events, table covers, and vinyl banners.

“If it’s something you can print on, we can probably get it and brand it,” Mark says.

Real-world examples from the episode:

  • Beach Ball Blast event giveaways: branded beach balls for a local community event.
  • “April showers bring May flowers” campaign: custom umbrellas for an assisted living company.
  • Event setups: tabletop retractable banners with QR codes for networking and trade shows.

Who They Serve (and Why Small Orders Matter)

Royal Stitch and Print supports organizations of all sizes—small businesses, nonprofits, schools, trade show exhibitors, realtors, contractors, and more. Mark believes credibility starts with showing up looking ready to do business, which is why they gladly handle small orders.

“Why should a two-person business have to order 24 shirts? We’ll stand by you on the small orders—so when the big order comes, you’ll know who to call.”

Logo help included: If your logo isn’t in the right format, they’ll work with you to digitize or rebuild it so it looks crisp on apparel, signs, and swag. They keep costs reasonable and focus on getting you what you need to move forward.

Service Area and Reach

While rooted at the Jersey Shore, Royal Stitch and Print serves clients throughout New Jersey and ships nationwide. Thanks to networking and referrals, they’ve completed projects for customers in Chicago, Los Angeles, Florida, and Texas—with the same attention to detail local clients receive.

The Origin Story

A few years ago, over dinner with his sons, Mark floated the idea of buying an embroidery machine. The very next morning, he purchased one—before he knew anything about running it. Early success with apparel led to a natural expansion into promotional products and signage, transforming the sideline into a full-time family business. Mark eventually left his roles in real estate and insurance to build Royal Stitch and Print alongside his partner and family.

Community First: Brick Morning Rotary and A Need We Feed

Mark is deeply committed to service. He’s a proud member—and now president—of the Brick Morning Rotary, where he works alongside volunteers who support veterans, address homelessness, and fund student scholarships. He also serves on the Board of Directors for A Need We Feed, helping ensure local families have reliable access to meals.

“Watching what these organizations accomplish made me want to do more. It’s about helping our neighbors and strengthening our community.”

Life at the Shore

When he’s not embroidering hats or setting up signage, Mark is all about family time—especially dinners with his grandchildren—and exploring local restaurants. He and his wife are frequent visitors to the Point Pleasant Boardwalk, which also happens to be the very first place they visited after moving from Brooklyn.
